An Exceptional Project for 2026
The Antibes aquatic stadium is undergoing a major transformation that will be completed by the end of 2026. Starting from the 2023 All Saints’ Day holidays, the final phase of modernization begins with the demolition of the main building, dating back to 1976, to make way for a modern, eco-friendly structure. This phase will involve the closure of the indoor pool and a temporary reorganization of public access for three years.
The new facility will cover 5,600 m² and be designed to meet the highest ecological standards. It will include several pools: a main pool measuring 25×20 meters, a teaching pool, and a wellness pool. It will also feature 500 bleacher seats for competitions. A total of 40 individual changing rooms, as well as collective changing rooms for schools and clubs, will complete the facilities. An underground parking lot with 80 spaces will be developed to ease access to the site.
One of the major highlights of this project will be its 1,400 m² rooftop terrace, housing a restaurant with breathtaking views of Antibes and a fitness area. A fast-food space will also be available for swimmers.

A Strong Commitment to the Environment
The aquatic stadium will not only be a model of modernity but also an example of sustainable construction. It is classified as a Sustainable Mediterranean Building at Silver level and will meet ecological requirements with innovative solutions: energy recovery systems for wastewater and water discharged from the pools, as well as the installation of photovoltaic panels (240 m²) for energy production. Water-saving equipment and the use of pool water for toilets will help reduce water consumption, a key issue for the sustainable management of the facility.
Access and Organization During Construction
The reorganization of the facilities during the construction phase will begin at the end of October 2023. During the construction period, only the outdoor pools will be accessible, with reduced capacity. Users, including clubs and schools, will still be able to swim, although the management of time slots will be adjusted to meet everyone’s needs. Temporary bungalows will be set up to replace the changing rooms and restrooms in the main building.
To ensure continued swimming education during this period, swimming courses for children aged 6 to 10 will be organized during school holidays, allowing 1,000 to 1,500 children to benefit from five sessions per week. The reorganization of pool access will last for three years, and the city of Antibes will do everything possible to ensure continuity of activities.
A 28 Million Euro Project
This large-scale project, costing 28 million euros, is funded through a shared investment: 60% from the Sophia Antipolis Agglomeration Community (CASA), 20% from the region and department, and the remainder from a state subsidy. The completion of the works and the opening of the new indoor pools are expected for the winter of 2025/2026.
